Inform Prize 2022
The 9th year of the Inform Prize was held on the 28th September 2022 at the OGV Podium in Aberdeen, and it was great to be back holding the event in person. A number of people from various sectors showed up on the day to see the projects that the teams had been working on.
Well done to all six teams who battled it out for the three prize categories.
The winners for each category were as follows:
Best Presentation (Inform)
Team Bravo (Bumpr)
Best Implementation (Enhance)
Team Hotel (Calensnap)
Best Idea (Grow)
Team Alpha (Cook Today)
Each winning team were awarded a trophy and a cheque for £800.
Thanks to Proserv and STC insiso for sponsoring our event this year.
See you next year for the 10th anniversary of the Inform Prize!
What is the Inform Prize?
The Inform Prize, funded by Intelligent Plant, was launched in 2014 to encourage Computing Science students at the University of Aberdeen to think about how they might communicate their ideas and research findings to local employers and promote interaction between industry and academia.
For their third year project, students are initially tasked with creating a digital solution to a real life problem. During the final stages of their projects, students are asked to present their idea to a panel of judges, give a demonstration of the product in action, and take part in a question and answer session, before the judges go on to decide who the winners are.
