PRIVACY POLICY

We believe your business is no one else's. Your privacy is important to you and to us, so we'll protect the information you share with us. Your personal data is protected in the EU by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Under the General Data Protection Regulation, we have a legal duty to protect any information we collect from you.

This Privacy Policy only applies to data captured on the Intelligent Plant domain and to Apps on the Industrial App Store (IAS) that are created by Intelligent Plant. When using Apps created by a third party, other data may be collected by those third parties which is out of our control. Please check the Privacy Policy of those third parties before using any App.

We will not collect any information about individuals, except where it is specifically and knowingly provided by them through the completion of enquiry forms, subscriptions to emails or registration to the Industrial App Store. Google Analytics is employed on the IAS to collect anonymous information to help us better understand IAS usage and demographics.

The IAS uses third party authentication methods to identify you. This means we do not ask you to create a new password to access the store. When you register with the IAS using a third party authentication method such as a Work or School Microsoft account, you authenticate with that provider. If successful, we create an account and user ID for you on the IAS which is linked to the external account that you authenticated with. This ID is then used to identify you on the IAS.

You cannot link multiple authentication providers to the same IAS account. Should you return in the future and use a different authentication provider, e.g. LinkedIn, a new account and user ID will be created for you, meaning you will not have access to any purchases you may have made while logged in using another authentication provider.

The information made available to us varies depending on the authentication provider you choose to use:

  • LinkedIn:  unique identifier, name, email address, profile picture plus information from your LinkedIn profile such as the industry you work in and your employment positions.

  • Google: unique identifier, name, email address, profile picture.

  • Microsoft: unique identifier, name, email address, profile picture plus organisation identifier.

From this, we store the following information in your user account:

  • Your name

  • Your email address

  • Information you make available through your LinkedIn profile (if you used LinkedIn to authenticate)

  • A unique identifier

  • The date and time your account was created

  • A profile picture URL (if available)

We also store information in various logs detailing your login activity, including the last date and time you logged into the IAS.

We do not allow login or registration via personal Microsoft accounts; if your organisation has pre-registered with the IAS (and has been approved by us), you can log in using your work or school credentials.

The IAS is hosted in the Microsoft Azure platform, specifically in Microsoft’s data centre in Dublin, Ireland. This is where your user account and related data is stored. Some Intelligent Plant IAS Apps also utilise resources located in the United Kingdom.

When you use an IAS App, the App can request basic information about you, in order to identify you and to personalise your experience when using the App. This basic information includes:

  • User Identifier

  • Name

  • Organisation name

  • Profile picture URL (if available)

We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information). Generally, this information is requested and stored when you create a Registration ID on the IAS or when you download free software, enter a contest, subscribe to email newsletters or contact us directly via email or phone. We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To make the site easier for you to use by not having to enter information more than once.

  • To alert you to product upgrades, special offers, updated information and other new services from Intelligent Plant.

  • To send you (on request) quotations for purchasing any Applications you may be interested in.

If you decide to register, you will be able to select the kinds of information you want to receive from us by subscribing to various services, like our electronic newsletters. If you do not want us to communicate with you about other offers regarding Intelligent Plant products, programs, events, or services, you may select the option stating that you do not wish to receive marketing messages from Intelligent Plant.

Please be aware that we will not use your personal information for any marketing purposes, unless you have signed up to one of our marketing services, from which you can opt out at any time.

If you wish to have your information deleted from our system, please email info@intelligentplant.com with a subject line of “Right to be Forgotten”.

We may on occasion provide links to external websites. Whilst we make every effort to provide you with links to high quality, reputable sites, the contents of these sites are not under our control. When you click through to these sites you may leave the area controlled by Intelligent Plant.
